The more I work with oil the more I love it. Layering on touches of color is as delicate as folding egg whites into cake batter, it has to be done lightly or the color goes flat and the texture its lost.
I decided to rework the painting of Mike and give him a richer background. I softened some of the edges by adding hints of the new background into the shadows of his coat. It feels do much better.
What would a collection of dog portraits be without something truly fancy? With that in mind I decided to paint Elizabeth Taylor and her pup from a fragrance ad that ran in the early 90s. Titled “All That’s Precious”
And I am starting a waterfall, this time I am going to leave a lot to the imagination. It will be interesting to see the difference between feeling like a waterfall looking like one.
